Vet in a Van Pty Ltd (“Vet in a Van”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information through www.dogfirstaidkit.com.au and when you deal with us. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

We may update this policy from time to time by publishing a new version on this page. The date above shows when it last changed.

What we collect and how

  • understand how our website is used so we can improve it; and
  • meet our legal and professional obligations.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information where it is needed for the purposes above, with:

  • service providers who help us run our business and website, such as our web host, email provider, payment processor, analytics provider and website plugins;

  • anyone we are required or authorised to share it with by law.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers (for example Google, Microsoft and Automattic) may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Where this happens we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is handled in a way that is consistent with the APPs.

Cookies and analytics

A cookie is a small file placed on your device by a website. We use cookies to make our website work and, through Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use it (for example which pages are visited and for how long). This information is aggregated and does not identify you to us. Google’s use of this data is described at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Some parts of the website may not work as well without cookies.

Our pages may also include embedded content, such as YouTube videos. These services may set their own cookies when you play the content.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. These include secure (HTTPS) connections, access controls and keeping our systems up to date. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it, or as long as the law requires, and then securely destroy or de-identify it.
